We are excited to be participating this year in Amplify Austin 2014,
a city-wide giving day presented by I Live Here, I Give Here, to increase philanthropy in Central Texas through online giving to hundreds of nonprofits like us. Your gift will be amplified through the incentive pool and exciting incentive prizes by giving to us on Amplify Austin.
There will be 24 hours, 6:00 PM March 20 - 6:00 PM March 21, to give online.

Howdy, Ethan! A new Packers fan, much anticipated by the Adventurers family, was born Monday afternoon to Jessica and Rino. Rino has been an Academy instructor since long before the Adventurers became the Adventurers Academy. He and Jessica are much loved by staff, families, and of course ALL ADVENTURERS! Baby and Mom (and Dad) are doing well. We wish them all the best and look forward to seeing the THREE of them soon!

They'll delay start of schools here. For the past year, new and old Adventurers alike have been asking for new tee-shirts, jackets, and sweatshirts. Adventurers like to wear Adventurers shirts when we're on our field trips or volunteering in the community, and lots of our friends want them, as well! Now we've got some cool new designs.


Here's what's new:
  • A grey tee-shirt with the red, white, and blue Texas logo will be our "official" field trip shirt.
  • A special-order organic tee with a multi-colored design is for next summer's 2014 Golden Gate Adventure to San Francisco and northern California.
  • An Adventurers Academy sweatshirt will keep us warm when we're out and about this winter.
  • A classic light blue t-shirt with a white Texas design is another cool shirt.

Melissa painted the butterfly design featured on Paper Clouds Apparel tee-shirts and tote bags August 5-18. She's proud to be a part of the project and we're proud of her!

Melissa attends the Adventurers Academy of Lifelong Learning, in Austin, Texas, among her many other activities. She especially likes attending live music events with the group. For the past two summers she has joined two extended adventures to the Silver Spur Ranch in Bandera, Texas, (“Cowboy Capital of the World”). She loves riding and working with the horses. Melissa enjoys spending time writing, attending concerts and theater productions as well as singing and playing her guitar.
